Sundays on the Maritime Mile returns with an action-packed programme of free music

Sundays on the Maritime Mile are back offering free music performances running from 12noon to 5pm every Sunday throughout May and August, popping up at various locations along Belfast’s waterfront.

Programmed by Snow Water on behalf of Maritime Belfast Trust, the charity responsible for preserving and promoting Belfast’s maritime heritage.  Sundays on the Maritime Mile features some of Northern Ireland’s finest artists, including opera, singer songwriters, jazz, trad, folk, indie & electronic. Venues stretch along Belfast’s waterfront and include the award-winning SoundYard, Hamilton Dock, RiverBox on the Titanic Slipways & outside HMS Caroline and Titanic Distillers.

May’s programme will feature new collaborations including NI Music Prize winners and nominees, Hot Press ‘Ones to Watch’, premieres of new work and new collaborations. Singer-songwriters performing include Bernadette Morris, Rory Nellis, Kate Nicholson, Matt McGinn, Eilidh Patterson and Jack Warnock, there will be trad from Eimear Johnston, jazz and new work from David Browne Murray and Two’s Company, bluegrass, and rock favourites the Broken String Band and the String Ninjas.

Jenna Sloan, Marketing and Digital Content Officer at Maritime Belfast Trust said, “We have an action-packed programme kicking off as part the Coronation weekend on Sunday 7th May with Eimear Johnston, Rory Nellis and The Broken String Band. There is something for everyone and we look forward to welcoming everyone down to enjoy live music and exploring more of the Maritime Mile.”

Sundays on the Maritime Mile is supported by Maritime Belfast’s ‘Explore MORE’ campaign, which aims to encourage and motivate locals and visitors to explore more by taking a trip along the Maritime Mile to visit vibrant quaysides and heritage attractions, go for a walk, run, or cycle and enjoy a cocktail or a bite to eat in one of the eateries dotted along the way. All whilst learning about Belfast’s maritime story during the day or evening.
